BYD closing its electric bus production facility in France

The Chinese manufacturer BYD is closing its electric bus production facility in France. The first electric buses were produced at the BYD plant in Allonne near Beauvais in France at the end of 2018.

Since the grand opening of the facility only about 30 vehicles have left the production halls due to a lack of orders.

“BYD France will remain present on the market as SAS, but the production site will be closed. Orders have not been enough,”

Aurélie Plaisant, communications officer at BYD France, is quoted as saying on Bus&Car Connexion
