Elon Musk says Model S Plaid could come to China early next year

Tesla’s Model S Plaid could be coming to China early next year. CEO Elon Musk said ths n a tweet on Monday.

Musk mentioned the Model S Plaid China launch in a tweet in response to @JayinShanghai, a Twitter user who closely follows the company. Musk didn’t give any further details.

Information on Tesla’s China website shows an expected delivery date for the Model S Plaid in China of the end of 2022, though that is subject to regulatory approval.

Tesla’s website shows the Model S Plaid is priced at RMB 1,059,990 ($166,000) in China, about 4.2 times the price of the entry-level China-made Model 3.
