Willers Japan is launching electric car Autonomous driving experiment in Nagoya

In 18 days Aichi Prefecture in Nagoya will start the demonstration experiment of new automatic operation units. 

The vehicle used is a 14-seater electric vehicle by French Company Navya. There is no steering wheel, accelerator, or brake, and instead it is operated by the controller of the game console if necessary. The Vehicle will operate autonomously and a safety driver is present just in case something could happen.

The position of the vehicle is measured using artificial satellites and obstacles are detected by sensors. Willers is using the Navya Arma for this experiment.

The experiments will be conducted on two routes starting from Aeon Town Chikusa ( Chikusa Ward ) and connecting JR Tsurumai Station (Naka Ward) and Nagoya Institute of Technology ( Showa Ward ). It takes 13 minutes to reach Tsurumai Station for 1.6 km and 12 minutes to reach Nagoya Institute of Technology.

It operates on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with 7 to 14 flights a day. Up to 6 people can test drive. free.

Test drive is on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made on the website ( https://travel.willer.co.jp/maas/autonomousdriving-aichi/ ) or by phone (050/2018/0107). September 18th is accepted from 10am and October 15th is accepted from 10am.
